Please join us at Popps Packing for a one-day open studio event featuring March Artist-in-Residence, Robin Dluzen (Chicago/Detroit).

Robin Dluzen is an artist, curator, and art critic whose work addresses themes of labor, identity and place. During her residency at Popps Packing, Dluzen has been working on a continuation of a series of large-scale vinyl collages composed of remnants she gathered over three years as a union graphics installer in Chicago. In addition to her visual practice, she has been writing a series of short fiction pieces similarly informed by her experiences in the trades.

Dluzen's artwork has been featured in venues across the country, including the Holter Museum of Art (Helena, MT), Dorchester Art Project (Boston, MA), Zolla/Lieberman Gallery (Chicago), Bert Green Fine Art (Chicago), Illinois State Museum (Lockport, IL), the Union League Club of Chicago, and the Hyde Park Art Center (Chicago). Dluzen's writing has appeared in Visual Art Source, Art Ltd., ArtNet, Art F City, Chicago Art Magazine, Sculpture Magazine, and more. She holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Popps Packing is located at 12138 St. Aubin, Hamtramck MI, 48212
